He nodded, unable to argue that the crowd gave him a wrong vibe. Ty took a second and hoped it wasn't the alcohol dulling his senses. He wouldn't say anything in that regard and have Tandy feel like he was harping on the subject, or not trusting her. The drink wasn't bad but he hadn't been kidding about just having Sprite next time. He could only imagine what she'd think when the fact that he hardly drank soda was disclosed.
Tandy had gone on to talk about the church and he nearly regretted it instantly. His shoulders tensed slightly at the mention of Liam but Ty didn't utter a word. He never forgot what she told him about being alone. Neither did he doubt that claim. Yet he knew how a person could feel alone while not actually being alone. His question didn't come from disbelief but understanding her life to be a lot closer to his than she seemed to see.
It hurt him personally when she said nobody even called her. Liam should have. Ty was happy to and he did more often than it seemed right to, given their relationships with other people. His eyes didn't linger on the girls who stared. They didn't hold a candle to Tandy. He chuckled with a shake of his head at her compliment. "You hang nicely off my shoulders. This is just a plain shirt," he insisted before grabbing one of her hands with his free hand to kiss the top of it.
Ty returned her hand to the spot on his chest and dropped his to her knee at his side. "You wanna dance or is this not that kind of party?" If he was supposed to drink more, Tandy might be disappointed. He was still feeling a little... funny from the sprite and vodka.
