Honestly, it didn't surprise her that Ty didn't want another alcoholic drink after the one that she was stealing sips from but she was impressed enough that he was at least trying it a little bit. It also made her realize that she had to keep in mind how much she drank around him. Not that she planned on drinking a lot more but she didn't want to make him further uncomfortable by drinking more.

He didn't need to say anything either when she mentioned Liam because she could feel the tension creeping into his shoulders but there wasn't much she could do about it. She couldn't take back that she had shown Liam the church though she did regret it. Not because of Ty but because of what had happened and the fact that Liam stole from her.

Nor did she care that Liam really hadn't called her all that much. She didn't really think about it. The only thing that had mattered in the end was that Ty tried and continued to do so. Yes, he had called more often than what might have seemed right and it happened more so now. Which made sense considering they were in a relationship together and they wanted to talk even on the nights she had to stick close to home so her mother wouldn't freak out.

"Smooth, Ty." She grinned teasingly as he told her that she was hanging nicely off his shoulders. "But I guess I can't argue that. I am nicer to look at."

Curling around him a little more, she glanced around the party before shaking her head. "Not right now but I'm sure there will be dancing a little bit later. We don't have to stick around if you don't want to though. We could take my mom's car and go for a drive?"

"My girl. Always so humble," he teased with a playful shake of his head in disbelief at her response to being nicer to look at. She wasn't wrong. Ty made it a point to tell her daily that she was beautiful in one way or another. He teased about her being conceded because he learned that she was far from it earnestly. It was one thing for Tandy to boast playfully and another for her to take a real compliment.

He'd kissed the top of her hand just to emphasize that he'd been teasing. It felt better than words could say to have her arms wrapped around him. "We're not adding 'drinking and driving' to the list of ways you're corrupting me tonight." His tone changed but not to an unforgivable pitch. There was a little warning in it, as if asking what she was thinking. Ty had a little surge below his waistline almost as soon as he had the thought. Maybe she wasn't really thinking of driving at all.

Couples did... other things in cars.

"We can stay," he uttered softly, almost hesitantly. "What would you be doin' if I wasn't here?" The question came suddenly. It seemed as if the alcohol he drank had removed what filter he normally had. Ty was usually one to mull over something before giving it a voice. He wanted to hear what Tandy would say, believing that she wasn't the girl stealing wallets anymore. Not to mention, his girlfriend.

He couldn't help feel like being with him weighed her down. Ty worried she'd tire of him and go for one of these older guys. Like Liam.

The smirk on her face softened into a smile at his teasing before she ducked her head with a laugh, unable to hide the way that she sometimes got a bit bashful with him now and then. Like all the times he called her beautiful and she realized that it wasn't just lip service with him or him giving flattery to get her into bed. She knew him well enough now to know that he only said things that he meant and that meant he did find her as beautiful as she found him.

She continued to smile as he kissed the top of her head before dismissing the idea of going for a drive. She could have pointed out that she hadn't had nearly enough to drink to be impaired but she gave up the idea of arguing with him as soon as it crossed her mind. But really, she wouldn't mind just hanging out with him in the car either. She had already noticed and teased him about the size of the back seat on the drive up and eventually, she would show him that she was serious.

Of course, then came his question which had a tricky answer because it was right on the tip of her tongue to tell him that she would be finding a mark. Except for the fact that she didn't do that anymore. Not since her little down spiral right before the two of them saved the whole city. The instinct was still there since it was so ingrained into her but the temptation wasn't strong when she was next to him. Or wrapped around him.

"I don't know." She admitted as she looked over at the party again. "Probably drinking more and...trying to dance. Or liven up the party somehow. That or I would leave."

It was strange to think the people walking around were some years older than them. One thing that Ty knew without a doubt, they had no idea the couple watching them had saved their asses and all of New Orleans. That fact seemed to age him and Tandy a little. The divine pairing... He and Tandy had been told their fate and defied it. Ty felt warmed by that, even though he was living life in hiding.

"Tell me the truth... Did you ever go to a party just to have fun, not find a mark?" His voice was gentle and soft so only she could hear him. Maybe he was empowered by the alcohol he drank. The question popped up the minute Tandy had started to answer him. She was forcing herself to think of an answer rather than say what should've come naturally. Ty turned to meet her face to face, looking up slightly since she sat herself on the car trunk.

A small smile increased on his features as it had a tendency to do so when seeing her beautiful face. He was careful to keep the cup in hand out to the side but moved his other to perch on the small of her back. There might have been times when they first met that she found judgment in his stare but Tandy wouldn't find that now. Not in a long time. At least, that was how he felt when looking at her.

He would probably catch the way she bit her bottom lip when he told her to tell him the truth because that was never a good way to start something but she wasn't really surprised by his question either. It simply made her sigh because she hated to admit it out loud but she knew he wouldn't judge her. At least not so harshly that he would give her shit and walk away. Still, she didn't want to disappoint him and yet she knew it would if she lied.

"Not a lot." She answered awkwardly, making a bit of a face before sighing and leaning into him as he slid an arm around her to rest his hand against her back. "It's just how I survived, Ty. I know it wasn't the right thing to do but it was the easiest way to do it....and yeah, it was kind of a rush."

"But it's not anymore." She rushed to say, sitting up straighter. "I'm not doing any of that anymore, I promise."

His hand rubbed where it fell on her back, as if to coax the truth out of Tandy. The touch was also meant to be supportive. "Hey, if it makes you feel any better? I didn't really go to any parties. Why do you think I told you my jacket could stand to use a little more high school experience that time?" It was tempting to remind her that he'd been her mark then but Ty didn't want to chance her taking the reminder the wrong way.

"I like this. Being with you." Ty stopped worrying about the drink in hand and wrapped his arms around her. He looked up through a warm smile briefly before closing his eyes to kiss her. It took reaching a little but his lips managed to connect with hers. It didn't matter who saw (minus the law, of course), he gladly let the world know Tandy Bowen had claimed his heart. "Mmm," he uttered with a shake of his head at the end. "Wherever that might be."

Nothing out of the ordinary, the ball was in her court. He was both fugitive and novice. Tyrone Johnson had very much so met his match.
